Sapindus edulis Blanco, Fl. Filip., ed. 2: 201 (1845), nom. illeg. non Aiton (1789) nec Blume (1823) (neosyntypes: Merrill Sp. Blanc. 320, Philippines, Palawan, Taytay, May 1913, in fruit (BO) and 1042, Philippines, Luzon, Batangas Prov., April 1915, in flower (BO, L)), which was cited as a synonym of this taxon, is unplaced by Govaerts & al. (2021).
