Protomelas similis (Regan, 1922)

Lectotype: BMNH 1921.9.6.118.

Paralectotypes: (5) BMNH 1921.9.6.119-122 (now 3). Lectotype designated by Eccles & Trewavas, 1989:52.

Type locality: Lake Malawi [Lake Nyasa], southeastern Africa.
