Holotype: MNHN. [lost fide Broadley in Golay et al. (1993: 138)]
Type locality: “Le Japon, la Perse” [= Japan and Iran] (in error); corrected to “South Africa” by Bogert (1940: 87) and FitzSimons (1962: 287).
