Type locality: Indonesia, Tanjung Luar fish landing site, Lombok, East Nusa Tenggara, 08°45'S, 116°35'E.[1]
Etymology: The name brevidentata, an adjective, is derived from the Latin brevis (= small), and dentata (= toothed), in allusion to the small teeth of this species in comparison with its congeners.
