Note: POWO (2025) currently accepts this type, but CACO (2025) place it in a synonymy with Pereskiopsis porteri (Brandegee ex F.A.C.Weber) Britton & Rose, Smithsonian Misc. Collect. 50: 332 (1907) = Opuntia porteri Brandegee ex F.A.C.Weber in D.G.J.Bois, Dict. Hort. 2: 899. (1898). See also local flora, EFloraMEX (2025). POWO have indicated that they will follow this synonymy on their next update, as Opuntia brandegeei is illegal. Updates in due course.
