Holotype: SMF 19554. [Paratypes: BMNH 1984.12.21.1 (1); SMF 19555 (1), 19556-60 (5)].

Type locality: Isle of Chisumulu, northeastern Lake Malawi [Lake Nyasa], southeastern Africa.
