Summary
| Description |
English: Female of Pelobates syriacus ready for reproduction approaches the calling males for mating. The body is thick because of the many eggs it contains. It also lacks the dark arm calluses that males develop during the mating season. The large callus internus is clearly visible on the foot.
Deutsch: Fortpflanzungsbereites Weibchen von Pelobates syriacus nähert sich den rufenden Männchen zur Paarung. Der Körper ist dick wegen der vielen Eier, die er enthält. Ferner fehlen die dunklen Armschwielen, die bei den Männchen während der Paarungszeit ausgebildet sind. Gut sichtbar ist am Fuß der große Callus internus. |
