Lydomorphus sp., cf. Lydomorphus (Cylindrothorax) thoracicus Deutsch: Lydomorphus Ölkäfer, zwischen Usakos und der Wüste, westliches Namibia. Die Sorte war am Ort algemein.
English: Lydomorphus blister beetle, between Usakos and the desert, western Namibia. The species was locally common, with several occupying a plant. Orange pronotum seems typical of Lydomorphus (Cylindrothorax). Cylindrothorax is a junior synonym of Lydomorphus, temporarily retained ... See: (Namibian Lydomorphus spp) Note: This one apparently laying eggs. Some Meloidae lay eggs on flowers or in the ground. When larvae hatch they crawl onto flowers, attach themselves to leg of visiting bee which unknowingly carries it into their nest. Some other spp. parasitize eggs of grasshoppers. |
