After all the problems with my flash, now my MPE has taken it on itself to act up, finally too full of dust and crap to open the aperture on demand. So off to Canon it goes. I lost some potentially lovely shots of two Symphyla though- still totally gutted. But in between the blacked out shots and soul destroying frustration, I at least got enough rescuable shots of this young chap to stack- a nine photo stack in the end, I think, and the detail is worth seeing in Large. He's about a millimetre big. And below in the comments is a K. burmeisteri from the knackered flash day, hopelessly under-exposed, so it looks a little strange after Lightroom. But anyway, this one is a fully grown adult, around 2mm big, that I played with for half an hour, trying different settings, f stops etc, to get an extreme macro with enough depth and detail but couldn't get the light. It would have worked too, if it hadn't been for that pesky....
