English: Asarum hartwegii—Hartweg's wild ginger. A California endemic according to Flora of North America, other references include occurances in southwestern Oregon. It grows in the Klamath and Trinity ranges as well as the northern Sierra Nevada. It spreads via rhizomes. Leaves and other parts of the plant emit a ginger smell when crushed.
