Hydrophorus oceanus Macquart, 1838


English: Long-legged Fly larvae. Image taken with a Leica DFC 490 camera mounted on a Leica M205C binocular microscope. This is an intertidal species found on mud, stones and algae. The larvae live submerged in a similar environment as Chironomid larvae. Collected in 2011 at the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium (51°20′59.55″N 3°13′14.67″E / 51.349875°N 3.2207417°E / 51.349875; 3.2207417).
Length = ~5 mm.
