Gyromitra gigas (Krombh.) Cooke

Location: Yosemite National Park, California, USA

Observation Notes: Found along the South Fork Tuolumne River.
Elevation approx. 4350 ft.
37 degrees 48.686’
119 degrees 51.390’
Growing in a relatively open area with cedar and D. fir nearby.
The limited number of spores I measured(7) were a little larger than normally reported. They ranged from 31.6-36.8 X 17.1-18.9 microns. Also did not see any oil droplets(in congo red).
