Elymus ambiguus is more common on the slopes and upper elevations in this area of southeastern Idaho and has a robust bunched habit and leaves covered with soft hairs. Agropyron spicatum sits at center with a clump of Elymus ambiguous growing next to it at right. Agropyron spicatum has narrower, greener, and hairless leaves.
