Native, cool-season to yearlong green, perennial, rosette-forming herb to 25 cm diameter. Leaves are green on top, white and fuzzy underneath; margins are entire or toothed. Heads occur on short unbranched stems and are yellow, to 2.5cm wide, with strap-like ray florets and tubular disc florets. Flowers year-round, but mostly in spring. Found on many soil types in both grassy woodlands and native pastures; often in small colonies. Plant growth dies back in summer unless adequate moisture is available.
Tolerant of grazing and other disturbances. Contributes little to pasture mass and is not actively grazed by livestock.
