des Eumoreœ auprèsdes genres Pachjtrophe, Paratrophis et Pseudomorus. Le Dimerocarpus dif-fère du premier : par labsence du périanthe fructifère charnu, et par lesfeuilles dentées. Du second il diffère : par le périanthe très accru sous lefruit; par lovule pendant. Du troisième il diffère : par le périanthe for-tement accru sous le fruit, par la graine non conforme au fruit. De tousil est nettement distinct par le fruit. Dans lovaire, le placenta du Dimerocarpus est relativement épais. Jesoupçonne quil se développe avec lovaire, quil repousse lenveloppe delovaire, se soude à elle et contribue à former cette masse stérile du fruitqui égale presque la partie fertile et sen sépare à la maturité. Sans avoir de renseignements précis sur la patrie de ce genre, paj lafonction et la résidence de M. Brenier, lexpéditeur, par le nom dabordattribué à cette plante (tonkinensis), tout fait supposer que le Dimerocarpusest du Tonkin et probablement des environs de Hanoï.
