Description according to Strelitzia 29: rhizomatous perennial, 50–90 cm. Leaves terete, spathes fi brous, light brown. Flowers in a compact, indistinctly fasciculate inflorescence of up to 50 cymes, yellow. Sept.–Nov. Mountain fynbos, NW (Cedarberg to Hex River Mtns).
