According to the photographer a localised Agter Pakhuis endemic on shallow sands; locally common in arid fynbos; characteristic "knee bend" at top of tube; leaves usually held at an angle slightly above ground; usually grows with similarly purple Laperiousia jacquiniana and Pelargonium magenteum and they all presumably share a pollination syndrome with Prosoeca long-tongued flies; no threats here
