Lectotype species: A. unedo L. designated by J. K. Small, N. Amer. Fl. 29(1): 82 (1914).

Заўвага:

Arbutus in its current sense appears paraphyletic (Hileman et al. 2001), but the necessary new genus for the New World taxa has not yet been created. However, broader sampling with the ITS gene yields a topology compatible with conventional delimitations of genera.
