Hello, you created a user page with no relevance to Wikispecies, so I have deleted it. If you can demonstrate that you understand what Wikispecies is about, then you can, of course, contribute to this project. Otherwise, Wikispecies is not a place for you to promote and advertise yourself, thanks ... Stho002 (talk) 02:34, 5 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Placement of images and vernacular names

[edit]

Hello Thamizhpparithi Maari. Please remember that sections for vernacular names should always go below ll other segments on a taxon page (i.e. below references, but above categories). Hence this edit is incorrect. You can check my later edit for an example of a better placement of the vernacular names section. The reason for this is that Wikispecies is primarily a database of taxonomical data and nomenclature, and vernacular names aren't really part of that at all. See this help file for more information: Help:Vernacular names section.

Also, please remember that pictures should always be place in the other end of a page, at the very top, above everything else. Furthermore it's a good thing to always include a caption for the image. Hence this edit is slightly off: instead the picture should be placed on top, with a caption. See this help file for more information: Help:Image Guidelines.

Thanks. I am interested to include vernacular names; that could help the researchers to find the thing, please guide me to do this type of editing --Thamizhpparithi Maari (talk) 08:58, 14 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Sure. For starters, Help:Contents provides a good introduction to editing Wikispecies, and Templates are there to help you following syntax and formatting rules. –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 09:18, 14 July 2016 (UTC).Reply
