It is an informal policy now to put vernacular names after the references section, so the more important references don't get pushed down off the bottom of the page by less important vernacular names. Stho002 20:16, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

The original idea was for them to be part of the Name section, but the list of vernaculars can get very long (and they aren't really of paramount importance). That was before I came along and started making the References sections more extensive and better. So, now it makes sense to order the sections as so: Taxonavigation > Name > References > Vernacular names. For example, see Symphyta Stho002 20:42, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Note

Hi Jacob Robertson, Its great to see images being added to taxon pages, thanks. Just a reminder, please always italicize genus and species names, and do not link a name if you are already on the page eg do link Panthera leo if you are not on that page but do not link it if you are already on the Panthera leo page. Thanks again for the hard work. --Kevmin 19:54, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
