• Type locality: CHINA: N-Sichuan, pass ENE Songpan, 4080 m, 32°44’54’’N, 103°43’43’’E.
• Holotype: Volker Assing private collection, ♂, 10.VIII.2012, V. Assing.
• Etymology: The specific epithet (Latin, adjective) refers to the conspicuously short female sternite VIII, a character distinguishing L. brevisternale from all other species.
