Synonymy

I have tagged Populus trichocarpa as disputed in the synonymy and re-created its page, as its characters (a very large tree to 60-70 m tall with yellowish to reddish-brown twigs) in no way match Fischer's protologue of Populus tristis (a small shrub with distorted, blackish twigs); they can reasonably be treated as distinct species, as numerous texts do - MPF (talk) 22:12, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
