The older classification that circumscribes these four tribes Anadendreae - Heteropsideae - Monstereae - Spathiphylleae has been shown to be incorrect by Cusimano et al. (2011). Therefore, they have been removed from the taxon page, but kept here for discussion see USDA: GRIN Taxonomy for Plants[1] (23 March 2006) as the older taxon page reference.
