According to {{Vela, Alonso-Zarazaga & Daccordi, 2020}}, Tenebrio caeruleus Linnaeus, 1758 is actually a synonym of Timarcha balearica Gory, 1833 (currently a valid species in the genus Timarcha in Chrysomelidae), but has been misinterpreted as a Tenebrionidae until the present. The type species of Helops should also be changed, "as most probably Helops caeruleus was described by Fabricius, not by Linnaeus (in Tenebrio).". An ICZN application is also needed to retain usage of Timarcha balearica over Timarcha caerulea.

(What a mess! Unfortunately this makes handling this species awkward on Wikispecies as far as I can tell, so I'm leaving this species where it is for now until an ICZN application sorts this out. Note that this does not seem to imply Helops is a synonym of Timarcha, just that its ICZN-designated type species actually belongs in the latter.)
