Conyza seems to be derived from within Erigeron, but possible synonymy is not fully accepted. In addition, many of the species of Conyza have not been formally transferred to Erigeron. However, other taxonomists may wish to recognise a single monophyletic Erigeron to include this genus and also Aphanostephus, Hysterionica and Neja plus probably other smaller genera, which will render Conyzinae monotypic. However, WS must adopt a conservative position and maintain the genera as segregates until formal transfer of all combinations. Andyboorman (talk) 10:01, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
