The status of this subfamily is unsure. The Cicindelinae was in the past considered like a family (the Cicindelidae). Now, it's sure that they are a part of the Carabidae, but the subfamily status is unsure: many specialist now mostly consider them like a supertribe, the (Cicindelitae), in the subfamily Carabinae.

The above comment was made in 2005. Recent works like {{Duran & Gough, 2020}} support treating the group as a family once again. Monster Iestyn (talk) 16:25, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
