- genus listed by Klimaszewski, Newton & Thayer (1996: 149) as a synonym of Makara
- Austrocalea brookesi apparently does not belong to this genus (Klimaszewski, Newton & Thayer, 1996: 149), and is adventive in New Zealand (Kuschel, 1990: 27, 46; Klimaszewski, Newton & Thayer, 1996: 149)
