Recent phylogenetic and morphological evidence have questioned the validity and monophyly of many of the subgenera and sections (Oslaoo et al., 2003 & 2005). It is proposed that these be taken off the taxon page until the situation is clarified. This will also simplify the page given the number of species and in addition these will need careful circumscription! Andyboorman (talk) 18:33, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- Given the subgenera and sections have not been completed except for Astragalus sect. Sarcocarpi, I will remove them unless there is opposition. Andyboorman (talk) 20:22, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
