I am nl:geruiker:Walter from the dutch Wikipedia. I have recived a message by OTRS #2007072410019071 about the family of Antirrhinum that it was wrong. That it is not Plantaginaceae but Scrophulariaceae. My book "Atrium tuinplanten Encyclopedie, 8ste druk (1994), pagina 435 - ISBN 9061137837 " and this page Antirrhinum confirms this. But when I was updating the article w:en:Antirrhinum I see there that it is that it used to be Scrophulariaceae but that the family has changed to Scrophulariaceae.

Of this here must be changed also I do not know, that is why I report this here. --Walter Do you have news? Report it to Wikizine 21:47, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Antirrhinum is now firmly accepted as a member of Plantaginaceae and the Scrophulariaceae have now been narrowly circumscribed (see references on the two main pages). Andyboorman (talk) 17:56, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Circumscription of the genus[edit]

Both Antirrhinum s.l. and Antirrhinum s.s. are monophyletic as long as Antirrhinum cyathiferum Benth. is excluded from the genus and accepted as Pseudorontium cyathiferum (Benth.) Rothm. (Oyama and Baum, 2004). Many taxonomists feel that taxon Antirrhinum should be reserved for the Old World genera, mainly circumscribed here as A. sect. Antirrhinum – and the other sectiones be re-circumscribed to other genera in Antirrhineae (Olmstead et al, 2010. However, this is not universally accepted to date, therefore Wikispecies should reflect both views. Andyboorman (talk) 18:18, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
