  • Type locality: Barranco de Gallegos, a volcanic canyon in La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain).
  • Holotype: BEA strain 0607. "Material of the authentic strain BEA 0607 cryopreserved in a metabolically inactive state at the Banco Español de Algas (http://bea.marinebiotechnology.org/en/).
