Holotype: BMNH 97.11.7.77, adult ♂, skin in alcohol and skull removed.

Type locality: “Chimbo, near Guayaquil, [Bolívar,] Ecuador. Alt. 1000´ [=350 m].”

Synonyms[edit]

  • Vampyressa minuta Miller, 1912: 25 [synonymised by Hershkovitz, 1949: 444]

Holotype: USNM 173832, subadult ♀, body in alcohol.

Type locality: “Cabima, Panama.”

  • Vampyressa venilla Thomas, 1924: 533 [synonymised by Peterson, 1968: 11, 14]

Holotype: BMNH 24.3.1.73, adult ♀, skin and skull.

Type locality: “San Lorenzo, 500´,” Loreto, Peru.
