Welcome to Wikispecies, Newone!

We like having new people contributing to Wikispecies. Here are a few things that may be interesting:

  • If you haven't done so, we strongly recommend you to create an account. Creating account is quick and free, plus it provides you more features such as preferences and the ability to keep a watchlist to track changes made to articles that interest you.
  • Have a look at Done and to do.
  • Help:Contents provides a good introduction to editing Wikispecies.
  • Templates are there to help you following syntax and formatting rules.

Please ask further questions in the Village Pump.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at the Wikimedia Commons.

We hope you'll enjoy the time you spend on Wikispecies!

You can sign your messages with ~~~~.

Minor and not so minor edits[edit]

Hello, and thanks for your many good contributions to Wikispecies. One thing though: You've marked some of your alterations as "minor edits", though quite a few of them are clearly not minor. See for example Polystichum(diff.) and Sinocrassula(diff.) There's no strict guideline stating what is considered a minor edit, but adding several hundreds of bytes of content – in your case mainly references – wouldn't normally be classified as a minor edit. That aside: again, thank you for the many good edits! –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 10:29, 26 January 2015 (UTC).[reply]

Autopatrolled rights[edit]

Dear Newone, You have been granted autopatrolled user rights, which may be granted to experienced Wikispecies users who have demonstrated an understanding of Wikispecies policies and guidelines. In addition to what registered users can do, autopatrollers can have one's own edits automatically marked as patrolled (autopatrol). The autopatrol user right is intended to reduce the workload of new page patrollers and causes pages created by autopatrolled users to be automatically marked as patrolled. For more information, read Wikispecies:Autopatrollers.

This user has autopatrolled rights on Wikispecies. (verify)

You may as autopatroller use the autopatroller user box on your user page. Copy and paste the following code on your user page:

{{User Autopatroller}}

If you have a Meta-Wiki user page, you can put the Wikispecies autopatrolled user box for Meta on your Meta-Wiki user page.

Theres always a need of patrolling files edited by unregistered users, and if you think you have a good understanding of Wikispecies policies and guidelines and want to help out with patrolling, you can request patrol rights at Patroller.Dan Koehl (talk) 15:22, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Old proposal?[edit]

I just came across a set of (apparently) unused templates of yours: {{Familia}}, {{Subfamilia}}, {{Tribus}}, {{Genus}}, {{Species}} and their /title subtemplates. They are used only on a set of mainspace pages (e.g. Familia; in fact I believe that page is the only one actually using the templates?), which seems to be a very old proposal related to taxonavigation? Obviously it never out and these templates now sit useless in Category:Formatting templates. Is it okay to delete them and the mainspace pages? Circeus (talk) 22:31, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
