Your user page (and why it got edited).

[edit]

This was the specific issue :- https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Lint_errors/night-mode-unaware-background-color

Which was showing up as an edit link on the relevant Lint report:

For many years, Mediawiki and content contributors had in good faith assumed conventional black on white text presentation. However so termed 'night mode' was implemented, which meant that assumption no longer held, Thus whena specfic background color is set, the foreground text color, must also be setup, so that when night mode is selected, the intended presentation of content on a page is not affected. The template color:var (--color-base-fixed, #202122); which was added to the user page, was an attempt to resolve this issue. (It is a template, that adds a standard text color, so the good faith presentation assumption used previously is maintained.)

I should of course have provided you with this to you BEFORE the edit. Apologies. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:16, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
