Tydeus kochi Oudemans, 1928

Type locality: On Salix. (different from Koch's (1836) description, "from swampy meadows")
Holotype: Lost (not listed by Buitendijk (1945), not in RMNH as mentioned by Silva et al. (2016: 37).

The Tydeus kochi Oudemans, 1928 was a replacement name for the Tydeus croceus described by Koch, 1836 [and not for Acarus croceus Linnaeus, 1758].
The species was renamed by Oudemans (1928: 378) for a species with "spatulate" setae. The specimens identified as kochi by Baker (1970: 170–171) surely belong to another species as they have no clavate setae (André, 2005: 981).
