Type locality: Indonesia, E-Java, Mt. Semeru, road Senduro - Ranupani, sample 4, S08°01.801', E112°59.931', 1430 m.
Holotype: BZM ARC2470 (EMBL # LM655807), ♂, 13-XI-2011.
Etymology: This epithet is a combination of the Latin nouns costa (rib, ridge) and penna (elytron) refers to its elytral sculpture.
