Talk:Monachulina
Add topicDisputed validity
[edit]Monachulina is dismantled into three clades deserving subtribal status in Gómez-Zurita & Cardoso, 2021:
- Genera transferred to Cryptocephalina: Adiscus – Lexiphanes
- "Aporocerina" (pars) [= "Ditropidina" of Reid, 1990]: Bucharis – Ditropidus – Elaphodes – Scaphodius
- "Coenobiina": Coenobius – Isnus
The rest of the genera currently listed on Wikispecies are not mentioned in the article (are they synonyms, already moved, or just not examined yet?). Since the type genus of the subtribe, Monachulus, is a synonym of the genus Lexiphanes, it appears that Monachulina would no longer be valid as a subtribe and would become a synonym of Cryptocephalina if the above changes are applied (this is not exactly made clear in the article itself, however).
