The original description of this species was based on a single female from Ambon. I have been able to photograph these 4 specimens from the Moluccas that are in the collection of Andrew Rawlins. The females match Okubo's description of asahi very well. The male needs to be compared with the males of H. shirozui and H. toshikoae and the differences described.
