Subgenera

Are the three subgenera on the taxon page any more than historical oddities? The two USA species are in separate subgenera and the type species is in a widespread monotypic subgenus. Schanzer (1994) advocates four sections - Hypogyna, Schalameya, Albicoma and Filipendula. Another case of removing infrageneric classification?

There appears to be problems with F. digitata and F. palmata, both names seem to refer to the same plant, but only F. digitata includes the other in its synonymy. Andyboorman (talk) 21:35, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
