Eucalyptus recurva is the World's rarest Eucalypt species with only 5 know wild specimens, two of these trees which are multi stemmed mallees are around 40m apart and may in fact be genically identical having originated from a common root base, if this can be proved then it may be the world's oldest living tree at over 13,000 years old. Its common names are The Mongarlowe Mallee or the Ice Age Gum.
