Placement?[edit]

@DCDuring: I believe that there was once placement of species of Carex in subgenera and sections. The existence of the header for "Unplaced species" supports that belief. Why delete such information before there is a replacement? Does the replacement exist, but no one who meets Wikispecies standards has the time to input the replacement? It seems that the unplaced species are now either; on the list of accepted species, unknown, miss spellings or unplaced names. As they all are now red links they should be block deleted I feel. I have found a reference from The Global Carex Group (Villaverde et al. 2019) which aims to resolve the paraphyly problems with past attempts at subgenera and sections. I will create a template for the reference and add it on the taxon page. Andyboorman (talk) 15:52, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
