Symphurus orientalis (Bleeker, 1879)

  • Holotype (unique): lost.
  • Neotype: BSKU 44238.
    • Neotype designated by Lee, Munroe & Shao (2013).

Type locality: Tosa Bay, off Kochi, Japan, 300–400 m depth; [originally: Japan].

Etymology: The specific name orientalis is a from the Latin (= from the east).
