- Holotype: ZFMK 74.430, subadult ♀, Skin and partial skull, collected by Wolfgang Böhme and Wolfgang Hartwig on 7 March 1974.
- Type locality: “near Lake Bambili, Mt. Lefo, Bafut Ngemba F. R. (5° 55' N, 10° 14' E), 1 800–1 900 m a.s.l., Bamenda Highlands, North West Province, Cameroon”.
