Holotype: EPN 9770, adult ♂, skin and skull.

Type locality: “Los Pambiles, confluence of unnamed river with Río las Piedras, Reserva Ecológica Cotacachi-Cayapas, Provincia de Esmeraldas, Ecuador, 00º32'N, 78º37'W, 1200 m.”
