Synonymy
[edit]- Tritoma piliferum P.W.J. Müller, 1821: 207 (Original combination); e.g. Germar, 1843: 139.
- Tritoma pilifera P.W.J. Müller, 1821 [Gender agreement]
- Alexia pilifera (P.W.J. Müller, 1821); e.g. Stephens, 1833: 23; Stephens, 1835: 401 (May be based on misidentification of Sphaerosoma pilosum (Panzer, 1793)); else e.g. see below in Jacquelin du Val, 1858; or Reitter, 1883(a): 241; Reitter, 1883(b): 393 or ; or Marseul, 1889: 186; etc.
- Sphaerosoma piliferum (P.W.J. Müller, 1821), e.g. Löbl & Smetana (eds.) 2007: 555.
(Note: Compare "Alexia pilifera Jacquelin du Val, 1858: Pl. 55" of some citations, with associated text on p.115 & 225. This could be simply treated as "Tritoma pilifera (P.W.J. Müller, 1821) in Jacquelin du Val, 1858, and not as a new description nor a synonym; see note and links under Sphaerosoma pilosum).
(Note: Compare "Tritoma piligera Muller, 1824: 617" of some citations, in Germar, 1824: 617" stated as "881) as Tritoma piligerum Mulleri", see Lacordaire, 1842: 228. This could be treated as "Tritoma piligera [sic] P.W.J. Müller, 1821 in Germar, 1824, [or perhaps as Müller in Germar, 1824]).
(Note: Compare also "Alexia pilifera Redtenbacher, 1845: 406").
Else (as possible synonym):
- Alexia infima Baudi di Selve, 1889: 88.
