Sphaeroplea africana F.E.Fritsch, 1918: 524, figs. 15, 16

• Type locality: Southern Africa, sample 17 ("Vlei" on Green Point Common, dry for the greater part of the year, but becoming filled during winter) / sample 18 (Large "vlei" at Maitland, abouth three miles from Cape Town).
