  • Type locality: Kellet Channel, south Shore of Cerros Island, Baja California, Mexico. Dredged from 40-50 m.
  • Holotype: (tetrasporic): E.Y. Dawson; 1944-05; UC 690005.


  • Heterotypic
    • Fauchea rhizophylla W.R.Taylor 1945
      • Type locality: Post Office Bay, Isla Santa María, Galápagos, Ecuador. Spreading over and rooted in a large sponge dredged from 55 metres’ depth.
      • Holotype: W.R. Taylor #34-370; 1934-01-29. Hancock Foundation. Notes: MICH.
