Name

[edit]

Salvia sect. Leonuroideae (Benth.) Epling, Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. Beih. 110: 304. (1938 publ. 1939)

  • Type species: Salvia leonuroides Gloxin, Observ. Bot.: 15. (1785)

Note: González-Gallegos et al., 2020 use the epithet Leounuroideae, which seems a mistake not an orthographic variant or correction of Epling's spelling. In addition, they treat Salvia formosa L'Hér. in Stirp. Nov.: 41 (1786) as the name for Salvia leonuroides Gloxin, Observ. Bot.: 15 (1785), which is a mistake under ICN Art. 11.4.

  • Basionym
    • Salvia sect. Calosphace subsect. Longiflorae Leonuroideae Benth. in DC. Prodr. 12, 327. (1848)
