Rhinobatos irvinei Norman, 1931

  • Holotype (unique): BMNH 1930.8.26.3.

Type locality: Ningo, 40 miles east of Accra, Ghana, western Africa.

Etymology: named in honor of botanist Frederick Robert Irvine (1898-1962), who collected many fishes off the coast of West Africa, including type of this one. (From: The ETYFish project)
