  • Type locality: Scots Bay (lat. 48º50'6", long. -125º8'45.6"), Bamfield, British Columbia, Canada.
  • Holotype: cystocarpic: B. Clarkston, G.W. Saunders and D. McDevit; 18 June 2006; subtidal (30 ft), on rock. Holotype DNA barcode: JF903308.
