Type locality: M4 Seamount, 1429m
Holotype: MBM286335, collected on August 24, 2017 from the station FX-Dive 140 (10°31.50′N, 140°11.00′E) of M4 seamount with water depth of 1429 m.
Etymology: The Latin adjective ornatus (ornate) refers to the bright-colored and beautiful colony of the species.
